02project12_feb2011

This was my son's 20th birthday. I decided to make these pictures black and white and just have the cake in color. I used plain black card stock for my back paper. I used the Bazzill texture card stock in a carolina blue. My balloon embellishments came from EK Success  punch. To make the strings I used my Creative Memories curve cutter. My four embellishments on the bottom left were done with Hero stamps and Hampton Art on vellum and embossed with a fine embossing white powder. On the right side I used a fine black embossing powder for my Happy Birthday Title and my celebrate embellishment from Hampton Art. I used some of my DP that I had on hand. And I framed the pictures with black card stock.

Project 12

I am submitting this two page layout for the Project12 Challenge @ Scrapbook & Cards Today. This was my first time ever using a sketch to do a layout. I am hooked. I had so much fun with this and it brought out a lot of creativity in me. I went through my DP and found a snowflake print that I thought would go great with these photos. I took a green card stock and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. To make my pictures pop I used black card stock behind them. I used the Spellbinders die cut Lables 8 to go under my journal. I used one of my pictures with the Making Memories Tag Maker. I punched a hole and tied fibers and ribbon to it. My winter wonderland title was made with the Cricut cartridge "Winter Wonderland". The snowflake brads came from Martha Stewart. I used the Marvey quick border punch for the side border. I added ribbon and rick rack to complement my page.

Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #5....

Well here is my first post on my first Blog!! I was told about Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenges by my Sister, So I am going to submit this card I made to Joan's challenge!!
Here is what you need to do for Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #5....

1. Use Coral/pink and Green for your colors
2. A Birthday Sentiment
3. Vintage Paper
4. Handmade or Punch flower

I made this card for a very good friend.

I used a peach/pink card stock for the flowers-label-and for the base of the card.I used a  vintage floral paper for the background, green for the leaves and a brownish green paper for the branch. I cut the paper to fit my card and distressed it on the sides. I also cut my floral paper a little smaller and also distressed it on the sides. The flowers I used a Martha Steward punch. With each flower I used three punches. I distressed the end of the petals and on the center punch I cut the petals in the center a little more with scissors. I used a brass brad to attach all three petals. The leaves were punched out with an EK success flower punch. I also distressed the outside of the petals. I used my cricut to cut out the branch with the Winter Wonderlandcartridge. The Happy Birthday Label was made with the spellbinders Labels 8 die and I also distressed the outside. The stamp I used was the Happy Birthday stamp from Hampton Arts. I also embossed it with a copper embossing powder. I had a lot of fun with making this card. I hope you like it.
